We want to help you remove and install your tractor’s air cleaner and air intake pipe.
If you do not feel that you understand these steps, or can perform them safely, consult your tractor dealer or local mechanic. Also always consult your tractor owner’s manual for model-specific information.
Time to get started.
Reason:
To remove and install your tractor’s air cleaner and air intake pipe.
1. Park the tractor safely and securely.
2. Shut off the engine.
Place chocks (A, Fig. 1) on each driving direction of the front and rear wheels.
A - Chock (8 pieces)
Note:
Make sure that the parking brake is securely engaged.
Make sure to lower any implements to the ground.
3. Lift the hood.
Push the hood release lever rightward to unlatch the hood lock. (A, Fig. 2).
Lift the hood (B, Fig. 3) with both hands until the hood support (C, Fig. 3) is automatically set.

Warning (Avoid injury):
Do not open the hood while the engine is running.
Do not touch any hot components, such as the muffler, exhaust pipe, and other components.
4. Remove the air cleaner, air intake pipe, and the air intake hose.
Loosen the hose clamp bolt (A, Fig. 4) from the air cleaner canister (B, Fig. 4), and air intake pipe (C, Fig. 4).
Remove the air intake hose from the air cleaner canister.
Loosen the hose clamp bolt (A, Fig. 5, Fig. 6) from the air cleaner canister (B, Fig. 6), and air intake hose (D, Fig. 5, Fig. 6).
Remove the air cleaner canister from the air intake hose.
Remove the air cleaner canister from the radiator fan shroud (E, Fig. 6).
Remove the air intake hose from the engine block.

Install the Air Cleaner and Air Intake Pipe
Important:
Make sure that all the component parts are clean and in good condition before assembly.
Install the air cleaner and air intake pipe:
The installation of the air cleaner and air intake pipe is the reverse of the removal procedure.
