We want to share tips and strategies for selecting the right tractor dealer.
This includes the right dealer to buy equipment from, as well as use for service.
If you do not feel that you understand these tips, or can perform/follow them safely, consult your tractor dealer or local mechanic.
There are many tractor dealers to choose from. Each wants your business. They will make a lot of promises and offer you all sorts of special deals.
Unfortunately, many dealers will not perform to your satisfaction. It is tough to find a dealer who will give you great sales and service.
Here are some factors to consider when choosing a tractor dealer:
Price: A tractor is typically an agriculture and commercial vehicle; strictly used for business. Getting a good price is very important. This will help you get a good return on your investment. We will circle back to how to get a good price in a moment.
Availability: The dealer must have the tractor in stock or can easily get one. Availability is very important as you have a business to run and need equipment in a timely fashion. They may have the unit in stock or can order one for you from another dealer or the manufacturer.
Service: Timely check-ups are extremely important. You need to make sure that the dealer has the workspace and skilled technicians that can perform your service quickly. The dealer should also keep a good supply of parts on hand in case you have a breakdown and need the tractor back fast. Ask about home service and pickup options.
Here are some steps to take when reaching out to a tractor dealer:
Search the Internet: Go online and search for equipment. Look for dealers in your area that sell and service equipment.
Read Reviews: Seek out and read through reviews of all the equipment you want to purchase. Also read reviews of each of the tractor dealers you are considering.
Consider Longevity: How long has the dealer been in business? The longer the dealer has been in business, the better. Do not count out a good new dealer either. Just use discretion when doing comparisons.
Compare Prices and Inventory: Look at all the inventory options and do price comparisons.
Consider Unique Benefits: Many times, you will get offers of free services, trade-in specials, festival offers, loan assistance, RTO facilitation, free oil changes, and even home service.
Check the Dealer’s Premises: Is it well maintained? Is the building in good shape or in need of repair? Is the bathroom clean? Is the waiting area clean and well lit? Is clean water and tea offered to all visitors?
To sum it up --- the three most important factors when evaluating dealers are service, price, and availability.
The key is to consider everything we shared and choose the perfect dealer.
