You should inspect your PTO shaft for safety.

Before each use of the tractor or equipment.
During operation, maintaining a minimum distance of 6 feet from the PTO shaft when in use.
After use.
Every time you start your tractor.
After every 8 hours of operation.
Additionally, it's recommended to grease the PTO shaft.

After 8 hours of use.
Before each use if the equipment is used infrequently.
At least annually for equipment used only a couple times a year.
Remember to always turn off the tractor and remove the keys before performing any maintenance or inspection on the PTO shaft.
